MENTORING IN EDUCATION
I have fourteen years experience in student mentoring at third-level, and have been involved in peer mentoring in HEIs in Ireland since 2012.
Projects have ranged from delivering workshops on programme development and structure; facilitating focus groups for programme participants and devising and delivering mentor training for third-level students. My mentoring programme model has been adopted by IT Sligo (Peer2Peer Mentoring Programme for undergraduate students) and I have jointly co-ordinated this programme since 2012. The model was subsequently adopted in 2014 by TU Dublin Blanchardstown (Get Connected Peer Mentoring Programme), and I continue to jointly manage this initiative, along with the National Learning Network. You can read more about the impact of the mentoring programme model here.
Since 2014 I have worked with the Smurfit Careers Team to manage a Career Mentoring Programme for full-time MBA students in the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate School of Business.
I offer peer mentor training for secondary school students. Email firstname.lastname@example.org for details of this half-day workshop.
