Mentor Training for Students

  • We had a very successful pilot peer mentoring programme, thanks to your valued experience, guidance and support. You were inspirational Katharine, and we all appreciate the training you provided us.

  • Peer Mentoring Resources was very helpful in working with us to bring together all of our ideas around implementing a peer support programme and putting shape onto it.  The training delivered to our peer volunteers was very well prepared and professionally delivered.  Katharine went out of her way to understand the specific issues for our client group which ensured that the training delivered was relevant and meaningful and not just a tick box exercise.

Katharine Slattery established Peer Mentoring Resources in 2012. Prior to this Katharine worked in the education sector, undertaking roles at UCD and at the University of Sydney, Australia. Katharine holds an M.A. from the Queens's University of Belfast as well as a Professional Practice Certificate in Training and Development (with Distinction) from the Irish Institute of Training and Development.

Together with facilitating mentor training and consultancy for mentoring in the workplace, Katharine has retained her interest in the education sector and has co-ordinated undergraduate mentoring programmes for two of the Institutes of Technology in Ireland for the last five years. Katharine also manages a career mentoring programme for MBA students at UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School.

Katharine very much values the opportunities she has to engage with so many people in a variety of contexts who are willing to share their time and expertise to support others.
